Definitions of Terms
ANNEALING - a process of heating and slow cooling glass in order to toughen and reduce brittleness.
FUSING - The adhesion of 2 pieces of glass by partially melting them together (in our cases by heating to the point where the surfaces melt together).
SLUMPING - Forming flat glass into a 3-dimensional shape by heating to the point where it becomes soft and sinks into or drapes over whatever shape it is placed on or in (in our case by placing it in a metal bowl shape so that it sinks into it taking its bowl shape).
GLASS BLOWING - the art of shaping a mass of glass that has been softened by heat by blowing air into it through a tube
CASTING - to give a shape to by pouring in liquid or plastic form into a mold and letting harden without pressure
